The Spirit of Yamhill-Carlton
Our Roots
At Kason Vineyards, we believe great wine isn’t just made; it is grown. Our story is written in the ancient soils and rolling terraces of the Yamhill-Carlton District, an AVA renowned for producing some of the world’s most expressive Pinot Noir.
A Haven in the Rain Shadow
Perched at an elevation of 325 feet on 15 acres of sloping valley terrace, our estate benefits from a unique geographical gift: the rain shadow of Oregon's Coast Range. This unique enclave within the rain shadow keeps our vines in a pocket of low humidity, while the constant airflow across our slopes ensures the fruit remains healthy and vibrant.
The Earth Beneath the Vine
The character of a Kason wine begins underground. Our vines dig deep into Woodburn silt loam and Willakenzie loam soils. These ancient sedimentary layers provide the perfect drainage and mineral complexity required to produce grapes with intense fruit character and a robust, fully developed structure.
From Soil to Glass
Our location allows us to craft wines that are a true reflection of the Willamette Valley’s power and elegance. By pairing our unique microclimate with specific clones—like our Pommard Pinot Noir and Dijon 76 Chardonnay—we produce wines defined by:
- Bold, full-bodied textures with sophisticated depth.
- Naturally balanced acidity, smoothed by the gentle Oregon sun.
- Pure varietal expression that honors the land in every sip.
We invite you to experience the harmony of wind, soil, and slope in every bottle of Kason Vineyards.
